Design Meets Luxury: Preserving Green Spaces While Redefining Comfort at Tropicana Damansara

When Nor and Dave (not their real names) approached us to redesign their 20 year old home, their vision centered around two key elements—luxury and nature. Noor longed for a home that embraced the tranquility of water and the soothing sounds of a pool, while Dave’s priority was to preserve the lush green surroundings he had carefully cultivated over the years.

The challenge?

To create a space that seamlessly integrated both luxury and greenery without compromising on comfort or function.

Bringing the Outdoors In

One of the most important aspects of the design was to create a seamless connection between the indoor living spaces and the outdoor garden. The existing garden, with its mature trees and sprawling greenery, was a sanctuary for the family. We wanted to design a home that didn’t just face the garden but became an extension of it.

To achieve this, we proposed large sliding glass doors that open up the entire ground floor to the outdoors. Whether you’re in the living room, kitchen, or dining area, there’s always a visual connection to the garden, making the space feel open, airy, and connected to nature. The centerpiece of this connection is the pool—its gentle ripples reflecting the greenery, creating a calming atmosphere that can be enjoyed from multiple vantage points.

 A Poolside Office Oasis

Dave’s love for the outdoors also influenced the design of his home office. Rather than confining his workspace indoors, we designed a poolside patio that doubles as his office. Surrounded by lush plants and the sound of water, this space provides a refreshing environment for meetings and work. It’s a space that embodies comfort and function, blending the natural world with everyday life.

Redefining Indoor Comfort

Inside the home, we focused on creating spaces that blend comfort with luxury. One of the main challenges was addressing Noor’s need for more storage—especially wardrobes. We revamped the bedrooms with customized wardrobe solutions, creating ample space without sacrificing aesthetics. Each room now feels spacious, organized, and serene, with plenty of natural light streaming in from the garden.

For Noor’s personal retreat, we designed a luxurious master bathroom that extends the sense of tranquility. Integrated with sound systems, this space is a haven where she can unwind to her favorite music while still enjoying views of the outdoor greenery. The combination of luxury features and thoughtful design makes the bathroom more than just functional—it’s an escape.

Luxury Without Compromising Nature

One of Dave’s biggest concerns was the preservation of his garden. He didn’t want any of the trees or plants to be sacrificed for the sake of design. We took this as a guiding principle and designed the entire ground floor layout to accommodate and embrace the existing greenery. By opening up the space and creating more connections to the outdoors, we not only preserved the garden but made it a focal point of the home’s design.

A Family Space for Entertaining and Bonding

With an emphasis on family activities, the revamped ground floor is now the heart of the home. Open spaces connect effortlessly to the outdoors, making it ideal for entertaining guests or spending quality time as a family. Whether lounging by the pool, dining al fresco, or hosting a gathering, the flow between indoor and outdoor spaces offers flexibility and ease.

In the end, the design of this home didn’t just meet Noor and Dave’s needs—it elevated their living experience. By balancing luxury with an appreciation for nature, we created a home that is both functional and restorative, a space where the boundaries between indoors and outdoors dissolve, and where comfort and green spaces coexist beautifully.
